Classic Turkey (or Beef) Chili, introduced by Katie [Gottron] in college!
1 # lean ground beef or turkey
2 garlic cloves, minced
2T Chili Powder
2 tsp. cumin
28oz. can crushed tomatoes
15 oz. can red kidney beans, rinsed/drained
1 sweet onion
1/4 c. canned diced chilies (or pamentos)
2T tomato paste
- Brown meat and garlic in nonstick skillet; drain off fat.
- Stir well with chili powder and cumin, until well coated.
- Mix in: tomatoes, beans, onion, chili's, and paste [in a slow cooker].
- Cover and cook 4-5 hours; or cook on stovetop.

Mom's Party Potatoes
Mom's Legion of Mary Field Trip September 2023!
10 Potatoes
8 oz Cream Cheese
1/2 C Sour Cream
Butter
Paprika
Salt
- Peel and halve potatoes
- Place in pan and add just enough water to cover
- Salt heavily
- Boil on high and cover til steam rises from pan
- Turn to medium and boil 6-7 minutes
- Poke until soft. Drain.
- Add cream cheese and 1/3-1/2 c. sour cream; beat.
- Salt/pepper to taste.
- Place in casserole dish and top w/ 6 cutst of butter; sprinkle with paprika
- Bake @ 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
